Cotswold Canals Feb On 25th January, the Heritage Lottery Fund announced that it had offered a grant of £ million towards the restoration of the Cotswold Canals. The offer of a matching grant of £6 million was also announced by the South West of England Regional Development Agency on . We came upon the Thames and Severn canal while doing a walkabout in Stroud. Being a great fan of the traditional narrow boat and the canals in the UK, we parked conveniently and took a walk. It is a lovely canal as it winds its way out of the town and was well worth our time. /5(46).
